London Metropolitan Police Rugby Challenge
The London Metropolitan Police defeated the Abbeyfeale junior side in a rugby challenge at Abbeyfeale on Sunday by 8 pts to 5 pts.
The visiting team was composed mostly of Australian and New Zealand player resident in London. It was a good hard clean game played in the typical manner with teams from “Down Under.”
Outstanding on the London Team were Pat Cogan, Jock Curry, George Dowdon, Paul Mantagu,, Mark Allen, and Robin De Morgan (Captain).
Best for Abbeyfeale were Nick Cotter, Tom Lynch, Frank Kelly, Jim Moynihan, Michael O’Mahony, Michael Shine and Larry Walsh.
For the English side, Pat Coogan scored two Tries one of which was converted by Jock Curry. For the Abbeyfeale Side Nick Cotter scored a Try which was converted by Larry Walsh
