Abbeyfeale welcomed Youghal to the Grove on sunday last in the Quarter Final of the Munster Junior Plate.Abbeyfeale thought they would be up against some tough competition but it was not ment to be as Tom Enright slotted over a penalty on the half hour mark.Micheal Enright 8 minutes later followed with a try and just on the brink of half time again Micheal Enright from a brillant block down scored to the left of the post and Tom Enright to convert leaving the half time score and final score 15/0 to Abbeyfeale. Abbeyfeale played Tralee in West Munster playoffs last Saturday in ODowd Park, Tralee. At half time Tralee were leading 26 – 5 with our only score coming off a five yard scrum when Daniel Leahy touched down near the posts. In the second half ,Tralee scored a further 4 tries. Our 3 tries were scored by Corey OSullivan, Marc Broderick & John C. OConnor. Conversions came from OConnor & Peter Collins to leave final score, Tralee 45; Abbeyfeale 24.

At Castleisland R.F.C. last Saturday Abbeyfeale U 15 played Castleisland in West Munster play offs. The first half was played between the 22 metre lines with neither side gaining advantage. The home side kicked a penalty on the stroke of half time to leave score : Castleisland 3 ; Abbeyfeale 0.
After six minutes of second half, Castleisland touched down, no conversion, score 8 -0. Abbeyfeale scored a try with Daniel Leahy touching down to the left of the posts after some great recycling by the forwards. Score 8-5. For the last quarter, Abbeyfeale were camped in the opposition 22. With two or three minutes remaining the ball came to South Africa bound James Smith Kirby on the left wing. While he was only ten metres out he had a lot of work to do in that there was three or four defenders but he managed to get through to touch down. Final score, Castleisland 8 : Abbeyfeale 10.

Another win for Abbeyfeale in an exciting game in the West Munster Plate with Bevan Scannell scoring 1 try and Milan Williams scoring an impressive 3 trys with Sean Ryan converting 2.Well done to all.

A well deserved win for Abbeyfeales U.17s against Young Munsters in the second round of the Avonmore League on saturday last. Jamie O Connor and John Murphy scoring a try each and Dan G Harnette converting also kicking 3 penalties and scoring a try of his own.
Abbeyfeale V Castleisland
Last Saturday January 21st Abbeyfeale were away to Castleisland, the score on 28th min was 17 – 0 to the homeside, a min before half time Corey O’Sullivan barged over from 10 yards out from a quick penalty taken by himself. Daniel Lyon’s converted. Shortly after the restart Conor Cross scored a try after numerous mauls. Score 17 – 12. On the 20th min the Castleisland outhalf kicked cross field to his right wing who duly touched down. Final Score 22 – 12.
Abbeyfeale welcomed Dingle in the Munster Junior League Devision 3 on sunday last kick off at 2.30. Abbeyfeale got off to a good start being awarded a penalty under the posts but it was to be short lived with Dingle replying almost immediately with a try and for the next 20mins Abbeyfeale didnt know what hit them as Dingle continued to score another two converted trys.Abbeyfeale had it all to do before half time being 19/3 down but they dug deep and on the half hour mark Gerard Walsh got in for a try.Just before the half time whistle again Gerard Walsh scored another try converted by Tom Enright leaving the half time score 19/15 to Dingle. Abbeyfeale started the second half with Sean Scannell putting 5 points on the board again Dingle replyed with a converted try this was going to make an exciting second half. But Abbeyfeale proved they were the better team with Micheal Enright scoring another try in the corner and Tom Enright adding to that with a penalty with 10mins to go. After ten minutes of second half, Martin Coghlan, full back scored under the posts following a break from the scrum by Milan Williams. Score Abbeyfeale 7; Killorglin 17. Killorglin scored another try to leave the final score, Abbeyfeale 7 ; Killorglin 22.
